Installation & Commissioning Engineer – Industrial & Process Burners

Location: UK-based with Worldwide Travel

Opportunity:

Due to continued growth, we are expanding our engineering team and are seeking an experienced, qualified Gas Engineer to join us as an Installation & Commissioning Engineer. This role involves the installation and commissioning of new burners, associated pipework, and electrical terminations, both in the UK and overseas.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out in-house FAT testing of newly manufactured burners

Install new equipment, including:

• Complete burner assemblies
• Heat exchangers
• Burner heads
• Valve trains
• Pipework and cabling
• Terminate local wiring in line with drawings and specifications
• Perform purge, strength, and tightness testing
• Diagnose and repair faulty equipment promptly to minimise customer downtime
• Work effectively as part of a team and independently on site
• Ensure all work is completed to the highest quality and safety standards
• Identify obsolete components and recommend suitable improvements
• Carry out safety checks, including interlock testing, leak testing, and emissions testing where required
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships through clear and professional communication
• Complete all service and commissioning reports accurately and submit them promptly to the Service Manager and Service Coordinator
• Participate in all relevant in-house and external training programmes

Working Hours & Travel:

• Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day
• Flexible working hours between 06:00 and 18:00 (to be discussed at interview)
• Occasional weekend work as required
• UK-wide and international travel, including short overseas assignments
• Nights away when projects require multi-day attendance

What We’re Looking For:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience working with industrial and process burners
• Strong understanding of electrical panel drawings and control systems
• Proven fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally
• Ability to work to high standards with a strong safety focus
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
• Full UK driving licence
• Valid passport (required)

• TRCP1 / TRCP1A

• CSCS card or Safety Passport
