We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Data Engineer to join our dynamic team and help shape the future of our data infrastructure and strategy. You’ll bring strong hands-on technical expertise alongside proven stakeholder management experience, while also supporting and developing the wider Data Engineering team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures aligned to business needs.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions.
- Optimise data systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Apply best practices in data governance, security, and compliance.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the continued growth of the Data Engineering function.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and analytics.

About You:
- Extensive expertise in SQL, including ETL design, advanced querying, optimisation, and performance tuning (e.g., query plan optimisation and database indexing), with strong knowledge of the latest SQL Server features.
- Proven experience in data development and ETL pipeline design.
- Experience with additional database or data warehousing technologies (desirable).
- Experience with WhereScape Red or WhereScape 3D (desirable).
- Experience sourcing or working with data from the Progress OpenEdge application stack (desirable).
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- A passion for mentoring and supporting junior team members.
