A well-established and rapidly growing manufacturer of dust and fume extraction equipment is seeking a talented Technical Manager to join their close-knit team in Colchester.

Technical Manager Role

The Technical Manager will take full ownership of the technical aspects of the business, becoming the in-house expert across our product range, systems, and dust extraction technologies. You will work cross-functionally—supporting customers and the sales team with product specification, collaborating with design on new and existing products, and driving improvements in technical documentation and internal processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the internal subject matter expert on the technical elements of the product range
• Research and understand developments in dust extraction and related technologies
• Interpret and apply relevant British Standards within the design process
• Produce detailed design specifications for products and bespoke projects
• Take ownership of product pricing
• Identify third-party solutions and suppliers to enhance the overall product offering
• Ensure accuracy and consistency across sales, technical, build documentation, and internal systems
• Provide technical input into product launches and marketing activities

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
• Proven experience within HVAC, fan systems, industrial filtration, or similar technical environments
• Able to identify and engage external suppliers and resources
• Confident user of IT systems, particularly Excel
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively across teams
• Based in or within reasonable commuting distance of Colchester
