A well-established building services and facilities management contractor is looking for an experienced Chiller Service Engineer to support a portfolio of commercial and industrial sites across London and the surrounding areas.
This is a secure, long-term opportunity offering manufacturer-supported training, exposure to large-scale commercial plant, and clear progression for engineers specialising in chillers and cooling systems.
The Role:
- You will be responsible for delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repair works across a range of commercial chiller systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out PPM and reactive maintenance on chiller equipment
- Diagnose faults across electrical, mechanical, and refrigeration systems
- Service, maintain, and repair:
- Air-cooled and water-cooled chillers
- Scroll, screw, and centrifugal compressors
- Process cooling systems
- Close control/precision cooling equipment
- Associated pumps, valves, and control systems
- Perform pressure testing, leak detection, evacuation, and refrigerant charging
- Work with refrigerants including R134a, R410A, R407C, R404A, and low-GWP alternatives
- Complete detailed service reports, F-Gas records, and statutory compliance documentation
- Liaise professionally with clients, site contacts, and helpdesk teams
- Ensure all work complies with:
- F-Gas regulations
- Health & Safety legislation
- Company and site-specific procedures
- Participate in an on-call rota (typically 1 in 6 or 1 in 8)
About You (Essential)
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience as a Chiller Engineer or HVAC Engineer with strong chiller expertise
- F-Gas Category 1 certification
- Demonstrable fault-finding experience on commercial chiller systems
- Strong working knowledge of both electrical and mechanical components
- Full UK driving licence
- Comfortable working independently in a field-based role
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 2/3 or City & Guilds in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning
- Manufacturer training (e.g., Carrier, Trane, Daikin, York, Mitsubishi)
